Technology has been a big blessing for the human race. Ever since computers were invented, it has made a lot of things easier for all of us, and with the invention of the internet, smartphones, and various gadgets, it seems like there are hardly any aspects of our lives that have been untouched by technology.
All of this has been possible through logical reasoning and studies in computer languages like C, Java, and Python. Coding allows people to build a group of digital instructions for the computer to follow which can be very simple or very complex depending upon the application.
Softwares are used in various places like washing machines, smart televisions, and even SMS API providers in India. Basically, these days there is hardly something that a computer and a clear logical group of instructions cannot do.
HOW DO COMPUTER LANGUAGES WORK
Even though coding seems very complicated because it works for extremely complicated instructions, if it is broken down, it is basically just logical structuring of instructions in a very simple language.
The first thing to understand is that a computer does not have a mind of its own or any consciousness. It will basically do and follow the instructions that are given to it. So a good programmer needs to know that in the case of working with computers, we should not assume things and give very clear instructions.
If we are able to give a set of clear instructions, the computer can perform even very complicated tasks and jobs very easily but on the other hand, if our instructions are not clear, the computer may not even be able to perform simple jobs.
The computer is an electronic device and it works on the same principles as other machines and calculators. When working with electronic devices, there are only two basic instructions that are positive power that in electronic terms is represented by a 1, and zero power is a 0.
As complicated as it may get but basically, a computer works on a set of instructions that are all about the binary system, a group or zero, and positive voltages. The set of commands that we type and all the jobs that even very powerful supercomputers perform when broken down are simply a play of voltages.
SOFTWARES AND THEIR APPLICATIONS
When we group together a set of commands or instructions for a computer to follow to perform a specific task, it is called software.
Softwares can be of various types and also be either very simple or very complicated, depending upon the task they need to perform. For example, our washing machines these days come with a set of instructions and buttons that can be easily worked with for various washing options or SMS API providers in India that use software for communication.
Using computers and technology efficiently can make our lives easy and also help us to know more about nature. Various supercomputers are being used for very detailed calculations for theoretical and fundamental scientific questions while the use of computers and technology in the case of space exploration is also remarkable.
HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH
Even though there is no doubt about the varied use of computers making our jobs easier, there are also a number of consequences of using too much technology and being too dependent on computers and machines.
Recent developments in the fields of technology are working with artificial intelligence that aims to bridge the gap and overcome the only difference between a human mind and a computer. It aims to build computers that can think and act like humans.
Machine learning on the other hand is another dangerous application of artificial intelligence that allows computers to learn and evolve through accessing existing data.
Though the applications of these are remarkable, one cannot ignore that maybe humankind is making a mistake by developing machines and computers that can think like us and maybe evolve better than us. One cannot help but think about the consequences of making machines that may be too intelligent for us to control and maybe we are headed towards doom.
Various science fiction movies and books are talking about the consequences of a world where machines became too powerful and intelligent to handle and it ends up in a war between the machines we built and us.
The only thing that differentiates and probably even protects us is our emotions. Being highly evolved living beings, we are blessed with consciousness and emotional sensitivity that cannot be taught to a machine, so as long as our machines don’t learn to feel, humankind will probably be safe.
