What riders actually pay, city by city
- Delhi: bike rides work out to roughly ₹8.5–11 per km with a base fare around ₹25. Rapido's auto fares track the Delhi government's metered auto rate — about ₹35 for the first 2 km, then ₹11 per km.
- Mumbai / Maharashtra: the only market with an official published rate card. The state transport authority set bike-taxi fares at ₹15 for the first 1.5 km and ₹10.27 per km after that, binding on Rapido, Ola and Uber alike.
- Hyderabad: bike rate cards commonly show ₹8–12 per km with a ₹30–40 minimum fare.
- Chennai: most short bike rides land around ₹10–12 per km, with an average city ride costing ₹45-ish.

Maharashtra's rate card changed how bike-taxi fares work
Until late 2025, bike-taxi pricing in India was effectively whatever the app quoted. Maharashtra's transport authority ended that by approving a minimum fare of ₹15 for the first 1.5 km and ₹10.27 per kilometre beyond it, applying to every aggregator including Rapido. Compliance notices went out to the platforms, so the caps are live, not theoretical.
Two things follow from this. First, Mumbai riders' fares are now more predictable than anywhere else in the country. Second, other states are watching — if your state regulates next, the app's estimate and the legal rate card will converge the same way. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Delhi have all debated bike-taxi fare rules; as of September 2026 Maharashtra's is the model to reference.
Riding in Bengaluru? The bike-taxi ban, explained
Bengaluru is Rapido's home market, so this matters more here than anywhere. Rapido vs Ola and Uber: who's cheaper per km?
For the same trip, here's how the per-km math usually shakes out:
- Rapido bike — the cheapest motorised option in almost every city, roughly ₹6–11 per km all-in for short rides.
- Ola and Uber autos — broadly similar to Rapido autos, around ₹11–14 per km in metros, though loyalty coupons on either platform can flip a single ride.
- Uber Moto / Ola bikes — comparable per-km slabs to Rapido bikes; the difference shows up in surge behaviour and availability, not headline rates.

4. Confirm only when the number looks right; the estimate you accept is what you're charged unless tolls, waits or route changes add on.
How to pay less on every Rapido ride
- Check the Offers section before booking. Rapido runs rotating coupon codes and first-ride discounts; a ₹20–30 off coupon on a ₹60 ride is common for new users.
- Ride off-peak. Morning 8–11 and evening 5–9 carry the most surge. Shifting a 30-minute errand by an hour often saves 10–20%.
- Refer friends. Referral credits land in both accounts and apply automatically to future rides.
- Walk your pickup pin to a main road. Long-pickup fees start beyond ~2 km, and a captain 500 m closer is also a faster ride.
