Potential of 5G Technology:5G Technology and Automation:Future of 5G Technology and 5G Chipset:

The 5G technology is on its way to be the most integral part of the all-futurist technologies. From automation to communication, 5G technology would change the innerworkings of all industries as we know it.

Wireless technology is the backbone of today’s fast-paced lifestyle. From kitchen appliances to automobiles, everything is connected to the internet. Today, smart cities are being built assuming that they would have a stronger and faster internet connection to support them. Thus, it is only natural that companies aim to switch to 5G from 4G as quickly as possible.

Currently, 5G technology is in its infancy, but it has already shown a glimpse of a bright future. For instance, 5G ultra-wideband is much faster than 4G connectivity and offers the ability to attend VR training sessions in mere seconds.

Potential of 5G Technology:

5G technology has the potential to allow connectivity among people, electronic devices, and machines in more ways than we can imaging. It has low latency which can enable technological advancements including next-generation 3D imagery, virtual reality, and hologram. 5G technology is much more than faster internet speed. Its greatest advantage is its ultra-fast response time or low latency. Its ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) makes it vital for upcoming technological innovations. In fact, its responses are 250 times faster than humans. Thus, autonomous vehicle technology solely depends on 5G technology and its reliability.

Industries with strict connectivity requirements would greatly benefit from the 5G’s low latency technology. Especially in the automotive industry, 5G technology is a mission piece to launch fully-autonomous vehicles and reach peak safety of the cars. As the technology allows quick data transmission and the ability to interact with obstacles and other vehicles to avoid crashes and smooth drive. The 5G-connected vehicle has the potential to receive information insights and enable car manufacturers to update software and fix issues remotely without compromising the car owner’s experience.

5G Technology and Automation:

5G technology can transform manufacturing by supporting vital applications and enabling a major overhaul in artificial intelligence and automation. The 5G smart factory is the next big thing in the manufacturing sector and it is already in trial. Ericsson has teamed up with China Mobile to disrupt its radio production manufacturing site. This smart factor is expected to replace manual tracking of tools and manual work by around 50%.

5G-enabled robots would become a major thing in the future. These robots would be more sophisticated and show real-time adaptivity. These robots would need a large amount of processing data that only one machine cannot support. Thus, 5G-enabled robots would be connected to the cloud where their system intelligence will remain. This would help in maintaining constant internet connectivity, storage, remote computing, data resources, strong cybersecurity, and data-driven intelligence to support the robot. These robots have the potential to replace humans in hospital settings as they can act as collaborative robots to guide patients or deliver medicines.

In addition, 5G technology is expected to revolutionize real-time location services using simplified infrastructure to improve accuracy. 5G positioning can offer exact details about the location of a phone, even its floor number. What’s more, it can help locate a GPS-enabled device to a centimeter in a skyscraper. The accuracy of 5G technology can lower overall infrastructure costs and open new opportunities for an array of geo-information applications.

Future of 5G Technology and 5G Chipset:

Such benefits of 5G technology have encouraged the demand for 5G chipsets across the globe. According to Allied Market Research, the global 5G chipset market is expected to reach $92.05 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 21.8% from 2021 to 2030. Samsung and Qualcomm have already launched their 5G chipsets in the market and are at the forefront of the 5G chipset market. However, the high cost of 5G chipsets and initial investments in developing 5G infrastructure is a major restraining factor. The majority of the 5G enthusiast consider infrastructure costs as a small price to pay for its unexplored potential.

The technology is poised to make ripples in every industry across the globe with its low latency, fast connectivity between the internet of things (IoT), and high reliability. Major IT companies are already on the path toward digitization and large-scale adoption of automation, which will only improve with the advent of 5G connectivity. It is clear that 5G connectivity will be the future of mobile robotics, massive machine-type communication (mMTC), and cloud robotics. Not only this, 5G would reshape consumer habits and experience of electronics by unlocking new opportunities in mobile videos and growth in smart and IoT-enabled devices.

In the future, AR/VR would hold more importance, which desperately needs low latency and faster communication between machine and user. While the cost of 5G infrastructure seems higher, its potential and promising capabilities outweigh every obstacle.
