When it comes to creating a website, it can be said that everyone’s lives have been radically changed, when online platforms took all the hard work and created some standard codes which you can modify them depending on your needs. Now you don’t need to learn to code at a proficient level (design, creating some different layouts, the structure of the site, and so on), but only to adjust everything, anytime to keep track of the actual trends.

New? What should you know?

The Front-end Web Developers are building static pages, as well as dynamic web applications such as Twitter, Facebook, or Google Docs. They are responsible for:

• Designing and developing the web code that the user is experiencing

• Optimizing web applications to increase speed and scalability

• Creating easy-to-use applications and prototype development

• Building new experiences for users

The online environment is still a new domain for many and is still adapting to everyday challenges creating some procedures that must be respected. Also, on the other hand, there are some small tips that can be seen as the unwritten rules of online workers.

1. Always have a backup

Nobody wants to work several times on the same project – losing your hard work because of objective reasons is not an option. This is also so easy to do thanks to the automatic backup. From now on you can be sure that if the power is going off your work is safe.

2. Know your stuff

When you are coding, you need to know the difference between one variable and another. Not only you will know when to use them, but also will make your algorithm work. Also, if you know what type of code language be sure that you don’t mix it with a different one, as you may have a result of a broken procedure.

3. Improve your skills every single day

Don’t believe that this online coding has an end; as everybody knows the world will have an online space and everything is going in this sector sooner or later.

If you want to start working in this domain, you should know that you might be surprised to find out that the first question you will hear at an interview will not be about your credentials or where you studied. Instead, you will be asked if you have a portfolio. A Front-End developer can build fantastic experiences that people would be interested in, adding them to a portfolio that will continue to count on sustained interviews. So, for building sites that would delight any user try new technologies and follow this important structure of your career development:

• Continuously accumulates new information

• Earn experience by creating sites using the latest technologies

• Engage in an open-source community that is in close contact with the Front-End world

4. Which code you should know?

Well, there are some you should check. Let’s start with something which everybody will tell you about.

HTML

HTML is the first of four major languages you need to create websites (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). HTML is not a programming language itself. It describes how the elements of a website should be arranged in the page and provides the browser with a list of other files such as CSS and JavaScript that the site needs for a smooth and complex operation. You can think of HTML as the sketch of a house. It tells you how large the rooms are and what it should contain. But it does not tell you how it should look.

CSS

If HTML describes the schema of a house, CSS describes how the house looks. CSS or Cascading Style Sheets is responsible for how a website looks. Colors, fonts, and even some animations are controlled by the CSS. Just like HTML, CSS is not a programming language.

JavaScript

Of the 4 web languages, JavaScript is the only one that is considered a programming language. JavaScript controls interactions on a website; for a simple, static site, you do not need to use too much JavaScript, but for a more dynamic website, you will need advanced JavaScript knowledge. Of course, if you want to learn more about it or to talk with somebody, you should check community groups which will change your whole life.

jQuery

It is a JavaScript library designed to ease and improve processes such as crossing the DOM tree in HTML, inter-browser event management, animations, and AJAX-type requests. (AJAX’s requests + manipulation of CSS elements).

5. Back-end developer – what’s the difference?

After everything was cleared with the Front-End developer, let’s see what means back-end developer. It is split, basically, into three main parts: a server, an interface application, and a database. The main role is to do content management. How exactly are the pages and text for a presentation website inserted? How is information managed in an online store? Through Back-End, the “Administrator Interface”.

The person working at Back-End is a programmer or back-end developer. His knowledge is different from that of a front-end developer, being much deeper in the programming area. Back-end technologies typically consist of languages like PHP, Ruby, Python, etc. To make it even easier to use, they are enhanced with frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Cake PHP, or Code Igniter, which help develop faster.

You have probably heard of WordPress. This is a great example of Front-End and Back-End working together because WordPress is an open-source framework built on PHP, which you need to install on your server along with a database. In addition to this, designers create and customize the layout (either they develop a theme from zero or customize an existing theme), and front-end developers customize their functionalities using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Conclusion

You shall know that each domain is a very complex one, but when passion exists, there will not be something that you cannot do. Not only that this job be done remotely, but you can also earn a lot of money if you are extending your services. Regardless if you choose local firms or international ones, you will have enough work.
