Every company in today’s world, regardless of location or profession, needs to keep their employees up-to-date. From interns to employees in high positions, everyone needs to be trained in the vision of the company, its goals, and also be updated on other advancements in the job market.

But in today’s world, companies have multiple branches, thousands of employees, and almost no time. Most companies just train their employees when they are initially recruited, but this is far from ideal. Even the companies that do give training at different stages end up wasting a huge amount of resources and time to provide sub-par training.

That is because the norm for training cannot cut it anymore when it comes to staying relevant. Lecture style teaching for your employees is drab and inefficient for some of the employees. This is why a lot of companies are flocking towards the idea of eLearning.

Technology has seeped into every aspect of the modern world, education included. More and more classrooms are becoming irrelevant, as institutions are implementing multiple software and devices to allow students to learn at their convenience, according to their interests and capabilities. It is changing how most students or trainees feel about education or learning.

What is e Learning?

This concept is sure to have sparked the attention of many. eLearning is a customized method of online teaching, which provides a better, more engaging, and accessible platform for employees to train.

Classes can use various forms of content, like pictures, research papers, videos, V.R, computing tech, and so on, to make the information more retainable and usable in a real-world setting.

Advantages:

Resources: Companies and employees save on a lot of money and time with switching to online courses. It saves expenditure and gives everyone the flexibility to learn at their own pace.

Accessibility: The learning process is continuous, which means employees must have access to education at all times, along with upgrades. eLearning platforms record and store each session and all the material that an employee can access from anywhere or anytime when they need to refresh their memory.

Engagement: eLearning platforms increase interaction with trainees that traditional teaching methods simply can’t achieve anymore. By keeping the employee engaged, their retention of knowledge increases, as they can understand concepts, not simply mug them up.

Customized Course: Your Company can customize the courses according to your company’s needs and goals, and upgrade them when you see fit. This reduces redundancy in learning and your employees learn only what’s relevant to them.

However, there are some challenges when it comes to online learning platforms in India:

1. Awareness:

Learners and companies are not aware of the ease and benefits of e learning in India. A lot of them assume that it will be impossible to implement software, which many people will not be able to operate.

This software, however, needs only initial efforts. Promoting the software and combining it with traditional means initially will show people the benefits and make them realize that this is not meant for just the technology sector, but is all-inclusive.

2. Motivating Trainees:

Many employees may not take well to switching from classrooms, as they might feel like this will increase their workload. This is why; trainees in India do not show much enthusiasm for eLearning and give up on training.

You have to stimulate motivation and curiosity in the trainees and show them the ease of using this platform. This is fairly simple, as eLearning engages trainees to do more, ask more and learn more. Setting objectives may also help trainees take to learning more.

3. Course Content:

Most companies provide unstructured course content or load the same offline course material online. This will not work on an e Learning platform as it is designed to be company-specific and to interact with the trainees. This is why; companies should pay attention when initially implementing this.

L.M.S (Learning Management Systems) is a software that allows you to customize your course material according to individual employees and divisions of the company. Initially, hire an L.M.S vendor, so you know exactly how to set it up in an organized and efficient manner.

4. Evaluating course efficiency:

This is the most common challenge, where companies don’t know if the course has had the desired impact on the trainees. This is why you should publish your course on L.M.S along with adding quizzes or aptitude based tests that are set out to be interactive.

This way, you can test the efficiency of the course. The software also monitors individual employee performance, which makes it simpler for you to monitor and alter the course according to this.

With any new technology, the testing phase can be inconvenient, but with the benefits being offered and considering that these nuances are temporary, companies should go ahead and implement eLearning. If you are hesitant, you can always combine them with regular training sessions until you get a better hang of it.

Partner up with the right vendor and you will be able to glide through the software smoothly and efficiently, setting a new and higher standard of teaching and training.
