On August 5, 2026, Tencent announced the full integration of its Hy3 large language model into the international edition of WorkBuddy, making the model available to users worldwide through the company’s agentic AI workspace.

Global users can access Hy3 on WorkBuddy free of charge through August 31, 2026 (Pacific Time), matching the limited-time free access already available in mainland China.

Unveiled on July 6, Hy3 is a 295-billion-parameter model with 21 billion activated parameters and support for up to 256K context length. Through scaled and refined post-training, the model delivers markedly stronger performance than peers of similar size, matching or exceeding the capabilities of much larger flagship models (often two to five times its parameter count) on reasoning, agentic workflows, and long-context tasks. The result is a clear lift in practical utility across productivity and product scenarios.
Adoption has been rapid. One week after launch, total invocations of Hy3 surged more than 68 times over the previous Hy2 model, propelling it to the No. 1 position on OpenRouter’s global large language model call-volume rankings.
WorkBuddy has established itself as China’s most widely adopted AI agent workspace. It combines a growing library of built-in Skills and domain-specific experts with multi-model flexibility — all ready to use out of the box, with no setup required. Users can simply open WorkBuddy and start working, issuing natural-language instructions to handle research, data analysis, document and presentation creation, and workplace communications. The international version of WorkBuddy launched in May 2026.
In internal Tencent workplace evaluations, Hy3 running inside WorkBuddy achieved a task success rate above 90 percent while cutting average completion time by 34 percent versus the prior Hy generation.
Hy3 is accelerating its footprint across Tencent’s overseas product stack. In addition to WorkBuddy, the model is now available through Tencent Design Miora and Tencent Cloud TokenHub. It was already reachable by international developers via third-party platforms including OpenRouter, Hermes Agent, Kilo Code, and Claude Code.
On OpenRouter, Hy3 API pricing starts at $0.1288 per million input tokens and $0.5336 per million output tokens—positioning it as a cost-efficient foundation for production agentic applications and workflows at scale.
Moreover, since July, Hy3 has also been released as open source under the Apache 2.0 license on GitHub, Hugging Face, ModelScope, and GitCode, enabling developers to download, adapt, and deploy the model in their own environments and further accelerate community experimentation and innovation.
